Accidental Heroes Book 3: Terminus

Accidental Heroes
Terminus Through a Looking Glass

The Absorbing Tale Continues

The HelotThis series began with a shipwreck and Tor, an unassuming miffit and the only survivor, being dragged from the sea by the dwarves, Oni and Oren. The Buso Bandar offer him the Chalice of Death, he fights a dragon with a wooden sword, and is tempted by the Yellow Woman in The Helot (Book 1).

In Dark Danger (Book 2) Tor, our accidental hero, travels to Nedra Deep where he and the wolfmen of the Aos battle hacklops and the Lord of Gloom to break a enchantment of bitterness he has cast upon the realm. But Darkness is not done with him. He and Delicia are drawn into Terromia Deep, the abode of the Lord of Darkness himself, where danger and death await them.

DragonsFollowing these harrowing adventures Tor and Delicia marry. In Terminus (Book 3), Delecia, heavy with child is swept away by a mythical birdworm, a helminth, never to be seen again. However, the fate of the realm rests with her child. Erebus, Lord of Demons, is determined that Tor’s insignificant offspring will not become the realm’s hero. He is determined to destroy the realm once and for all…and he succeeds.

The CrossThe Accidental Heroes series, and Terminus in particular, is as much about the faithfulness of God and of Baruch, a metaphorical Christ figure, as about the unsophisticated heroes he uses to accomplish his purposes. He uses everyday people like you and like me to accomplish his ends great and small—if we let him.

I originally wrote these stories to instill important life principles in the lives of my kids.

Accidental Heroes is a powerful series that will suck you in and keep you reading. The books may even take you places you do not want to go! So purchase, read, enjoy, and do remember to write a review!

Watch for Book 4, Primal Blade, coming out later this year.

Heroes Through a Looking Glass

Did you ever get thrown into a situation you had no desire to be in? I have more than once. In the Army, “You’re in charge of this group. Make sure they stay in line!” Another time I was sent to mediate a difficult church situation.

heroes from the seaTor is a miffit, distant relative of a hobbit, a simple fellow with nothing to offer when it comes to hero status. However, when he finds himself pulled from the sea by dwarves looting the flotsam after a shipwreck, he is thrust into a role he has no desire to play, the role of an accidental hero.

The Helot, the first book in the Accidental Heroes series is Tor’s story. So how did the story come about? Well, At the time of the first writing of the story I was a preacher, but I did not like the idea of preaching at my kids. I remembered how uncomfortable I was when my dad, who was not a preacher, would sermonize on the dos and don’ts of life. Grrr! Like with most kids, I listened without listening.

The Value of Story

How do you teach your kids principles of life without being preachy? I decided to write stories illustrating the principles, values, truths I wanted to get across to them, and they ate it up. They laughed. They cried. They looked perplexed. They asked questions!

Sufferings Are Real Not Fantasy

Sufferings of the Saints

Believers Partaking of Christ’s Sufferings

In Dark Danger, the Tarnished Seraph draws Tor into places of darkness and death. Fantasy or reality? Certainly an intense fantasy story, and yet altogether too real!

The image of numerous Christians kneeling on a beach with their hands tied behind their back who moments later were beheaded is imprinted in my mind. In India a Christian’s home was burned and all the family’s belongings stolen because the father had shared his faith with a friend. The friend, who came to faith in Christ, was murdered because he had converted to Christianity. The list of those who suffer for their faith goes on and on.

The enemy of our souls lusts to make Christ pay by persecuting His followers. Yet, for the believer suffering for Christ is a privilege. Easy? No. Scary? Yes. But in the midst of suffering a believer can find consolation and eventual joy. Numerous passages speak of the suffering of those who follow Christ. For your encouragement, here are a few of them.
